I am a bilingual licensed clinical psychologist who works individually with adults of all ages and backgrounds. I have a warm, down-to-earth style that can make talking about the hard stuff a little easier.
I primarily work from a psychodynamic framework that emphasizes the importance of developing insight into dysfunctional patterns and behaviors. I also integrate cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and other evidence-based practices to help people build upon their strengths and more effectively cope with and manage their problems.
I grew up in northern VA and speak Spanish fluently thanks to my Colombian family. I have a special appreciation for issues relating to cultural adjustment and adaptation. I also enjoy working with young adults and understand the stress, uncertainty, and "angst" that can accompany this stage of life.
I received my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Connecticut and my B.A. in Psychology from the College of William & Mary.
